Welcome to Easy Grow, a mobile gardening application available on iOS and Android platforms worldwide (the "App" or "Services"), developed and operated by the Easy Grow team ("we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

We comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR (for EU/EEA users), CCPA/CPRA (for California residents), and other relevant regulations depending on your location.

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide Directly

• Email address (for account creation and login)
• Date of birth (for age verification)
• Photos you upload for plant identification and mapping
• Profile picture (optional – only if you choose to add one)
• Photos you upload for custom plant additions or identification
• Plant placements on the map, notes, and other gardening inputs you add
• Real-time AI Queries: When you ask the gardening bot questions, your text and relevant plant/weather data are sent to Google Gemini for processing. We do not store these chat histories on our servers.

b. Information Collected Automatically

• Device information (e.g., device ID, model, operating system)
• Usage data (e.g., features used, interaction patterns)
• Approximate location (used for weather and gardening advice features)
• Analytics data collected via Google Firebase

c. Photos and AI-Related Data

Plant photos you upload are processed using Google Gemini for identification and to improve the App's AI functionality. Where possible, photos used for AI improvement are anonymized.

We do not collect payment information — the App is free and ad-supported.

We do not process any sensitive personal information (e.g., health, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain core App features (plant identification, mapping, weather data, gardening advice)
• AI Assistance: We pass your plant’s status and local weather data to Google Gemini to generate gardening advice in real-time. This data is used only to generate the response and is not saved to your user profile by us.
• Improve AI accuracy and overall App performance
• Manage your account and provide customer support
• Analyze usage to fix bugs and enhance user experience
• Display advertisements through Google AdMob
• Comply with legal obligations

4. When and With Whom We Share Your Information

We share information only in limited circumstances:

a. Service Providers

• Google Firebase (storage, authentication, analytics)
• Google Gemini (plant identification and AI processing)
• Google AdMob (advertising)

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

b. Other Situations

• Business transfers (e.g., merger or acquisition)
• Legal requirements or to protect rights and safety
• Anonymized or aggregated data (which cannot identify you)

We do not sell your personal information.

5. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (primarily via Google services in the United States). We use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved under GDPR, to protect international transfers.

6. Data Retention

We keep account-related data (email, date of birth, placements, profile picture) only as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, this data is removed.

Anonymized plant photos used for AI training and anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely to improve the App's long-term accuracy, unless you specifically request deletion.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption through Google Firebase, to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

a. General Controls

• Delete or manage your account directly in the App
• Opt out of personalized ads via your device settings
• Disable location access in your device settings (this may limit weather features)
• Choose not to upload a profile picture

b. Account Deletion

You can delete your account in the App or by emailing easygrowhello@gmail.com.

Deleted: Email, date of birth, profile picture, custom inputs, and linked plant placements.

Retained: Anonymized AI training photos, anonymized analytics, and any logs required for legal/security purposes (up to 7 years).

c. Regional Privacy Rights

California (CCPA/CPRA): You may request access to your data, deletion, or details about disclosure. We respond within 45 days.

EU/EEA (GDPR): You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object or withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or via email where possible. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
